Martha Victoria Lundorff - 1919
Martha Victoria Lundorff was born January 1919 in Sandstone, Mn.
She was daughter of Niels Lundorff Kristensen and his wife Laura.
Martha Victoria Lundorff was born Jan 1919 three miles east of Sandstone,Mn. She went to grade school and high school in Sandstone and college at Gustavus Adolphus at St.Peter Mn. She was a teacher, and when the war started she joined the Waves (Navy).
After the war she went back to school and became a Social Worker. She married Bob Wallin in Dec 1949.
They had three children:
Keith was born in June 1951. He is in the Forestry Service for the State. He married Ellen Finch. They have no children.
Second child is Kristy, she was born in 1953 and she is a nurse. She is married to Dave Barsness, and is the step mother to 3 sons and 6 grandchildren.
Third child is Jon Carroll and he went to school in Sandstone ,to college in Hibbing Mn. He married Beddy and had one child, Andrew. Andrew married Olivea and have one son. Jon worked for the State Forestry Service and died in 1988.
Martha Died in Sandstone in 2008 at the age of 89, and "Deluth News Tribune", Published June 21. 2008 wrote:
Martha Victoria Wallin, 89, died June 18, 2008 in Sandstone, Minn. She was born Jan. 11, 1919 at Sandstone to Nels and Laura (Andersen) Lundorff. She lived in Sandstone for most of her life except when her teaching profession took her to Tyler and Willmar, Minn. She married Robert Wallin and they were the proud parents of three children. She taught English, phys ed and history. Martha was member of Grace Lutheran Church, Sandstone History Club, Sandstone Flower and Garden Club, Vasa and Gustavus alumni. She took interest in many social issues such as world hunger and social problems, both local and world-wide.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jon in 1988, former husband, Robert Wallin; three brothers, Mike, Ed and Bob; infant twin brothers and sister, Gertrude in early childhood. She is survived by son, Keyth (Ellyn) of Orr; daughter, Kristi (Dave) Barsness of Sandstone; grandson, Andrew Wallin and his mother, Betty of Cook; two brothers, Irvin (Louise) of Grand Rapids and Norman (Evelyn) of Mora; two sisters, Mae Nelson of Duluth and Laura (Kirk) McMichael of Pullman, Wash.; also many nieces and nephews.
